Applications are now closed for 2020.
Maplethorpe Fellowships have been established under the Will of the late Mr Cyril W Maplethorpe for the promotion of pharmaceutical education and excellence in research.
The Fellowships may be held at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science at King’s College London or the UCL School of Pharmacy.
Applications are encouraged from early career researchers and although preference is given to pharmacists, non-pharmacists working in a relevant field may apply. Up to two appointments will be made, with each tenable from October 2020, for up to two years. The Fellowship will comprise the salary for the fellow, consumables and travel allowance.
Prior to submission, forms must be signed by:
Dr Sukhviner Bansal, Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, King’s College London, if applying to undertake a Fellowship at King’s;
Professor Duncan Craig, Director of the UCL School of Pharmacy, if applying to undertake a Fellowship at UCL. If you wish to obtain a signature from Professor Craig, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
You will need to submit an application and two references to email@example.com
Interviews will likely take place during the summer term.
We expect applicants to have a PhD degree, but there is no limit on how long after completing your PhD you can apply for the Fellowship. You will need to have an academic sponsor who is an established member of academic staff at the Department of Pharmacy at KCL and/or the UCL School of Pharmacy.
Your salary will be paid at point 31 of the Central University Salary Scale, plus London Allowance offered by your host institution. The Fellowship is initially awarded for one year only and you are expected to work full-time on your research project. Continuation to second year is subject to a satisfactory end of year report. Third year extensions may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
