UCL to launch LGBTQ+ Equality Implementation Group
17 February 2022
UCL is in the process of setting up an LGBTQ+ Equality Implementation Group (LEIG), to ensure that we provide a fully inclusive and equitable environment for all members of our LGBTQ+ community.

The group will be tasked with understanding the concerns and priorities of members of the LGBTQ+ community at UCL in its diversity, and with developing a set of recommended actions and a plan to deliver them.
It will establish accountability for work in this area, underpinning a sustained institutional focus on promoting equity, diversity, and inclusivity. This will include tackling inequality, marginalisation, and discrimination experienced by LGBTQ+ staff and students at UCL, with particular attention given to trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming members of our community.
LEIG will report directly to UCL’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, and via that to UCL’s University Management Committee (UMC).
Professor Sasha Roseneil, UCL’s Pro-Provost (Equity and Inclusion), is currently in discussions with LGBTQ+ staff groups and representatives from Students’ Union UCL to confirm the aims and membership of the group.
