Congratulations to Ailsa Prise on passing her viva

A huge congratulations to Ailsa Prise, who successfully defended her thesis on Tuesday 26th May! Ailsa joined the group in October 2011 from Imperial College London, with her research focussing mainly on the interplanetary effects of solar eruptions. Her thesis (entitled "The evolution and propagation of solar transients through the heliosphere") was examined by Dr. Jonathan Rae from UCL/MSSL and Dr. Matt Owens from the University of Reading (shown above with Ailsa and her supervisor Prof. Louise Harra).

As of the 1st June, Ailsa has left the Solar Group to start a new job working with the Home Office, with which we wish her the best of luck!
