Zoltan started life as a zoologist working as a marine ecologist in Norway. He was “re-educated” in immunological lore, through work on corneal allografts at Imperial College, UK, then a PhD at GSK and Cambridge University studying T cell signaling and parasitology. This was followed by a postdoc at Kyoto University investigating immunological tolerance. He then jumped ship into science publishing firstly as an editor at Cell Press before moving to Springer Nature. Zoltan is currently a senior editor of Nature specializing in vaccines, infectious disease, cancer immunology and some ‘immunology-adjacent’ areas.
