UCL research clinician awarded presitigious medical education fellowship

Professor Ahmed Rashid (UCL Medical School) has been awarded the Karolinska Institutet Prize for Research in Medical Education (KIPRIME) Fellowship, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of medical education.

The Karolinska Institutet is a world-renowned medical university located in Stockholm, Sweden. The KIPRIME Fellowship is a global community of expert medical education practioners. The progamme offers an inspirational curriculum of mentoring and development activities for midcareer medical education researchers.

Speaking of the award, Professor Rashid said: “It is an enormous honour to be awarded this fellowship and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be mentored by global leaders in the field. I am grateful to Professor Brian Hodges from Toronto for nominating me and to many colleagues and collaborators from UCL and beyond for their support. I look forward to spending time in Stockholm this summer and continuing to raise the profile of medical education research around the world”

Professor Rashid is a Professor of Medical Education at UCL, Head of the UCL Centre for International Medical Education Collaborations (CIMEC), and leads a variety of medical education projects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is Vice Dean (International) at UCL Faculty of Medical Sciences and has a particular interest in assessment and accreditation. He continues to work as a primary care physician in the UK National Health Service.
