I come from Switzerland, where I did the IB Diploma (including HL Biology, Chemistry and English Literature) before beginning my university studies at UCL.
I studied the BSc Applied Medical Sciences, which perfectly bridges the gap between science and medicine.
It teaches us to approach human disease and medicine with a scientific mindset and has fuelled my interest in studying disease and therapeutics.
The course provides a strong understanding of human physiology and disease in the first year. After this, it gradually grants us the independence to tailor our studies by selecting modules based on our interests.
This allows students to pursue any variety of educational and career options in the future.
The best part about studying at UCL is being around professionals at the forefront of research and having the chance to learn directly from them.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by scientists who are not only at the forefront of their fields but are also excellent educators.
I truly appreciate the thought that goes into developing coursework that challenges our understanding and creativity while helping us to solidify concepts taught in lectures and tutorials.
In the future, I hope to be involved in the pharmaceutical industry and look forward to implementing the invaluable skills I have gained at UCL.
