Take bold action for inclusion

In alignment with our MAPS EDI Strategic plan, we are opening the MAPS EDI Funding Call “Take bold action for inclusion.” The aim is to provide support to EDI initiatives that focus on developing or strengthening inclusive environments for staff or students in the Faculty. At present, we are planning to fund an appropriate number of projects for up to a maximum of £3000 each. The projects should address inclusivity regarding, but not limited to, disability, the LGBTQ+ community, gender, race and ethnicity, religion or belief, or socio-economic background.

Funding Call “Take bold action for inclusion.”

Application deadline: Now extended to Friday 26 January 2024 by 5pm
Funding period: 29 January 2024 to 31 July 2024
Funding decision will be communicated as soon as possible after the deadline

To apply please fill the online application form which can be found here. To help you prepare your application, we are also providing (for drafting purposes) a PDF file with the questions asked in the online form.

Application Form: Take bold action for inclusion

If you have any questions about this funding call, please contact us at maps.edi@ucl.ac.uk

Who can apply?

The lead applicant must be a member of staff or PhD student, but the project may be done in collaboration with undergraduate, postgraduate taught and/or research graduate students. We would like to encourage applications from departmental EDI-related networks, departmental EDI committees, and any individual member of staff passionate about taking bold action for inclusion.

Assessment

A Faculty panel will assess the proposals. All applications should clearly show that the proposed project:

  • is relevant to MAPS EDI Strategy 2022-2027,
  • will be completed within the funding period (Friday 19 January 2024 by 5pm),
  • has a clearly defined target audience, and
  • has a clearly defined intended and assessable impact.

We encourage you to submit projects that foster collaboration between departments or institutes in the Faculty. Successful applicants will need to provide a narrative project report and a financial report of expenditure against the budget by 31 July 2024.
