Biography

William Hyde Pink was party to a suit in Chancery, Emma S Pink and others v William H Pink and others, into which the compensation for three awards in Jamacia was paid.

  1. William Hyde Pink, "a free quadroon", was baptised in St Ann, Jamaica, 21/04/1816.

  2. In 1851 Will[ia]m Hyde Pink 'nephew' married, aged 37 'landed proprietor in Jamaica', born Jamaica, was living with Richard Hiatt aged 61 'annuitant' born Jamaica, and Hiatt's family, at 3 Strahan Place Islington. In 1861, William Pink, age 46, 'West Indian landed proprietor', born Jamaica, was living at 5 College Place East, Greenwich, with his wife Catherine age 38 (born St Pancras), and sons William age 7 (born Hackney) and Isaac age 4 (born Kingsland). Isaac George Pink, son of William Hyde Pink and Catherine Matilda Pink, was born 24/06/1856 and baptised 17/06/1861 in Shoreditch St Leonard. Burial of William Hyde Pink aged 57 at Victoria Park Hackney 03/03/1870. His wife Catherine Matilda Pink of 11 Queen Street, Hoxton, was buried in Hackney, 03/07/1871.
