Biography

Martha Pink, natural daughter of John Pink, planter of Jamaica, and Rebecca Hiatt (both q.v.). Baptised in St Ann, Jamaica, in 1829. Left a share in Up Park pen in St Ann by her mother and in Sunbury estate, Drax Hall and Mocho pen by her father. A further legacy from her grandfather John Hiatt.

In 1851, Eliza Ann Pink, age 27, "West India proprietor", born West Indies, was living in the household of her brother-in-law Thomas G. Walsh at 3 Horbury Terrace, Kensington. In 1861 she was at 15 Highfield Terrace, age 37, Independent, born Jamaica, with her niece (given in the census erroneously as her sister) Emma S. Pink age 19, born Suffolk. In 1871 she was a boarder at High Street, Towcester, Northamptonshire in the household of John Brown. She was at the same address in 1881. By 1891 she was living in with her neice, still at High Street, Towchester; by this date her niece had married William Simmonds, a professor of music, and had several children. She was with the same family at the same address in 1901.

The will of Eliza Ann Pink of Towcester, spinster, who died 26/12/1904 was proved at Northampton 17/01/1905 by John Hanbury Jepson, bank manager. Effects £2043 3s 8d.
