Ruhrberg Lab
Vision: Understanding neuronal and vascular development and identifying molecular targets for therapeutic intervention in vascular disease.
Aims: The Ruhrberg team seek to determine how cells interact during mammalian development and in disease.
Approach: Combining reverse genetics with tissue culture models to examine how the vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and class 3 semaphorin (SEMA3) proteins convey signals between cells in the brain, retina, heart and lung.
