Industry collaborations

If you wish to start a new industry collaboration there are many ways that UCL can support you with this:

1. Are you searching for the right organisation to propose your idea? do you have already one in mind, or do you know them already? - Irrespective of that please contact either Dr Eleonora Lugara' (local Research Manager, e.lugara@ucl.ac.uk), or contact the Business and Innovation team at the TRO (The FBS representative is Dr Nicki Ridgway, n.ridgway@ucl.ac.uk)

2. DO NOT SHARE IDEAS or COSTS with industries without consulting a Research Manager first. UCL guidelines to work with companies state to cost them preferentially at 120% FEC. Please leave the Translational Research team to negotiate on your behalf. This process protects your working scientific relationship and frees you from unnecessary headaches.

3. After a first friendly and exploratory meeting, before disclosing data, make sure you submit a CDA/NDA (Confidential Disclosure Agreement/Non-disclosure agreement) ahead via Worktribe. This is usually taking 2-3 weeks. See the section NDA/CDA of this website to know how to submit one.

4. if you want a scientific advisor to discuss the protocol/project please reach out to Dr Eleonora Lugara' (local Research Manager, e.lugara@ucl.ac.uk) or Professor Dimitri Kullmann (Deputy Director for Research and Enterprise).

5. Contact (or ask a Research / Business and Innovation manager to contact) a Tech Transfer Officer to discuss IP and data ownership. Please contact UCLB

6. Make sure that after agreeing on a scientific plan the following points are carefully addressed by a research/ BD and contract manager:
   - Intellectual property/Options
   - Publication rights
   - Confidentiality
