Skull Base Unit

This page contains information on the Skull Base Unit at the Division of Neurosurgery.

The Skull Base Unit is a clinical and academic group within the department of neurosurgery at the UCLH National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. The multidisciplinary team includes 10 surgeons – 6 neurosurgeons and 4 ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeons - who collectively perform the highest volume of skull base cases in the UK, encompassing all pathologies and affecting all parts the skull base. These include, but are not limited to: sinonasal malignancies, pituitary adenoma, Rathke’s cleft cysts, craniopharyngioma, acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma), chordoma, chondrosarcoma, meningioma, and epidermoid tumours.
