Mouse models for Neurodegenerative Diseases Lab.

The research group are interested in understanding the genetic basis of disorders that involve neurodegeneration in humans: motor neuron diseases, a rare movement disorder (‘XDP’), and Down syndrome including the resulting susceptibility to Alzheimer's disease. We work with the mouse as a genetic model for aspects of these human neurodegenerative diseases, and we create specific mouse models to help us answer specific questions about pathomechanism.
