Unit of Functional Neurosurgery

The Unit of Functional Neurosurgery at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology & UCLH National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is dedicated to the treatment of movement disorders, neurological and psychiatric conditions with neurosurgical techniques, mainly Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and stereotactic ablation. The Unit conducts research focused on improving safety and clinical outcome after Functional Neurosurgery. This highly specialised multi-disciplined team, includes neurology, neurosurgery, speech and language therapists and specialist nurses in collaboration with neuropsychology, neurophysiology, neuropsychiatry and neurogenetics experts.
