The NeuroResource tissue bank

Dr. Jia Newcombe, Department of Neuroinflammation, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

The NeuroResource tissue bank provides samples to researchers for studies on multiple sclerosis and also motor neurone disease. Human tissue studies are key enablers in realising experimental medicine objectives.

NeuroResource is an established tissue bank based in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, which is closely associated in its work with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Central nervous system (CNS) samples for research studies are from precise neuroanatomical areas. Histological and immunocytochemical characterization of tissue immediately adjacent to samples used for studies provide a detailed background for data interpretation.

Samples can be used in a wide spectrum of neuroimmunology, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical research projects on tissue damage and repair in MS and motor neurone disease.
