Dr Peter Kok awarded Wellcome-Beit Prize for Sir Henry Dale Fellowship
22 September 2020
We are delighted to announce that Dr Peter Kok (Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology) has been awarded the Wellcome-Beit Prize, which comes with a £25,000 supplement to his Sir Henry Dale Fellowship
The Prize is awarded each year to Wellcome Trust's best intermediate fellows to provide additional support with their ongoing research, replacing the Beit Memorial Fellowships for Medical Research which were originally founded and endowed by Sir Otto Beit as a memorial to his brother Alfred.
These were provided to promote the advancement by research of medicine and allied sciences and many eminent scientists have held this award including Nobel Prize winners and others who have gone on to be the international leaders in their fields.
Dr Kok will give a presentation at the annual meeting with the Beit Guardians.
"I am delighted to have been awarded the prestigious Wellcome-Beit prize for most promising independent research leaders. It's an honour to join the ranks of the excellent scientists who have received the Wellcome-Beit award previously." Dr Peter Kok, Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology
