Professor Alex Leff, Professor of Cognitive Neurology and Consultant Neurologist, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology & National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
Professor Leff's team will present three short talks all aimed at increasing the dose of practice-based therapy for patients with acquired or degenerative brain conditions. Aygun Badalova will present data from the Gotcha! trial of a proper-name anomia therapy for people with dementia who have trouble recalling the names of the people that they know well. Dr Neena Singh will present work on the ATTEND trial which is for in-patients with acute stroke causing lateralised inattention, using immersive VR visual stimulation. Finally, Prof Leff will present data from the first two years of the in-person ICAP service (Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Programme) for patients with chronic, post-stroke aphasia.
