Ex-demo Ophthalmic Surgical Microscope arrives

WEISS was delighted to help purchase a Leica Microsystems Proveo 8 Ophthalmic Surgical Microscope. The microscope was delivered in December to the Royal Free Hospital. The Leica Microsystems Proveo 8 Ophthalmic Surgical Microscope is a state-of-the-art microsurgical system incorporating intraoperative OCT. The new microscope will allow WEISS to expand its research activities to ophthalmology, with clinical lead Dr Riaz Asaria from WEISS and technical lead Prof Marinko Sarunic, jointly affiliated with UCL (Faculties of Brain Sciences and Engineering Sciences) and Moorfields Eye Hospital. The use of intraoperative OCT will also open new collaborative opportunities with the medical image analysis experts already at WEISS.
