Surge I & II Exhibition

17 January 2022

Person in front of art work

Art made by artists at University of the Arts London (UAL) collaborating with WEISS’s Richard Colchester, Chloe He and Biswajoy Bagchi was displayed in the window of 26-28 Brick Lane (the former cake shop that housed the In Theatre project) for a week in December 2022. Pictured is Iris Tsang with the tapestry she made with Chloe He and artwork made with a group of people from the LGBTQ+ community discussing their perspectives on building a family and fertility care.

The Surge II project involved WEISS researchers collaborating with artists from the UAL Post Graduate Community. The main exhibition then took place at UAL between 10-15 January and also showcased works made by artists collaborating with WEISS members Ester BonmatiGeorge Dwyer and Tijana Vojinovic from the previous incarnation of Surge. This blog was written by the physical sharing of the works at the London College of Communication at the start of January.
