UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering

The UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering stimulates and supports world-class, interdisciplinary research and innovation in healthcare engineering.

We have an established research pipeline through which advances in fundamental science and engineering underpin the next generation of healthcare innovations to transform patient care. This is achieved through a unique interdisciplinary network which unites UCL Departments and Faculties with the UCL Partner Hospitals and Biomedical Research Centres to target unmet clinical needs.

Our aims are:

  • To pioneer healthcare technologies which improve the lives of patients across the globe;
  • To generate new knowledge at the interface between engineering and health;

  • To train the research and innovation leaders of the future.

Our website is currently under construction and will be re-launched in early Autumn 2018. To stay up to date with the latest news and research in the meantime, sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter. Any questions, please contact us at healthcare-eng@ucl.ac.uk.

FrugalInnovationWorkshop

Interdisciplinary Approaches to Frugal Innovation Workshop

We are delighted to welcome back our international collaborator Dr Prashant Jha, Director of the pioneering SIB Programme at the AIIMS, India to run a two-day workshop. Dr Jha will be sharing his expertise, replicating and nurturing a frugal mindset within attendees that they can then apply to their own research. We are offering a fully-funded PhD studentship for a project arising from this workshop. The application process for this studentship is outlined within our funding opportunities
