Laura Shallcross appointed to the APRHAI

Dr Laura Shallcross has been appointed to the Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Prescribing, Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (APRHAI). 

The APRHAI provides practical and scientific advice to the government on minimising the risk of healthcare associated infections. You can read more about the Committee on the UK Goverment's website. 

Laura leads the Preserving Anitibiotics through Safe Stewardship (PASS) research group which is using electronic health records to investigate the diagnosis and management of infection and antimicrobial resistance, with the overarching goal of developing interventions to improve antibiotic use in healthcare settings. As an expert in her field, it came as no surprise that Laura has been successful in her application to the APRHAI.
