Two new Associate Professors at IHI

We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new Associate Professors at IHI.
Dr Laura Shallcross and Dr Rob Aldridge have been appointed as Associate Professors at IHI.
Dr Laura Shallcross
Laura is a NIHR Clinician Scientist undertaking research to develop novel risk prediction strategies to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing for urinary tract infection syndromes in hospital.
Laura joined IHI in 2014 and leads a research group which uses electronic health records to investigate the diagnosis and management of infection and antimicrobial resistance. She also lectures on an IHI MSc module, an EPH BSc Module and is the course lead for the IHI Short Course, Answering Clinical Research Using Electronic Health Records. Additionally Laura is the IHI Athena Swan Lead.

Dr Rob Aldridge
Rob is a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Career Development Fellow. His research focuses on using data and digital technologies to investigate and improve the health of the public with particular focus on establishing disease burden in invisible populations such as migrants, homeless, prisoners, sex workers and individuals with substance use disorders.
Rob joined the IHI in 2015 and is currently leading the development of a new IHI MSc module in Public Health Data Science.
