IHI Researcher is awarded BHF Fellowship

Dr Michail Katsoulis has been awarded the Immediate Postdoctoral Basic Science Research Fellowship by the British Heart Foundation. 

Michalis will be supported over 4 years, with his work focusing on weight change and the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in large scale electronic health records. The study will examine the short-, mid- and long-term patterns of weight fluctuation in CALIBER, in different population groups. Causal inference methods will be used to estimate the impact of different weight change patterns (combined with other CVD factors) in CVD. The study will also examine whether weight change can contribute to risk prediction scores for CVD.
