Institute of Health Informatics Graduate programmes

The UCL Institute of Health Informatics is the UK’s leading provider of education and training in the fields of health informatics and health data science and offers a range of programmes from short courses to MSc, MRes and PhD; some designed for students seeking to study full time, others for students wishing to combine work and study. We work with partners including the University of Manchester and the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme, and with a wide range of employers including NHS Trusts, Public Health England, IQVIA, Astra Zeneca, Benevolent AI and Roche Pharmaceuticals to offer a unique portfolio of programmes that are exciting, challenging, flexible and which take students onto to leadership roles in the NHS, in industry and academia.

Health Informatics

Health Informatics
Combines distance learning and intensive face to face teaching in a flexible programme that prepares students from a wide range of backgrounds to lead the digital transformation of healthcare organisations. This is a unique collaboration with the University of Manchester and the NHS Leadership Academy, and brings together the largest team of health informatics researchers and academics in the UK.

Health Data Analytics

Health Analytics
Designed with NHS England, and uses a mix of distance learning and face to face teaching. Students, who typically have a first degree in a scientific or mathematical subject, acquire skills in statistics, applied mathematics and health economics, and are equipped to work as health data analysts using complex data sets to inform management decisions. This multidisciplinary programme is delivered by leading academics from across UCL.

Health Data Science

Health Data Science
A campus-based programme which can be taken full time or part time. Students with a first degree in a scientific or mathematical subject take an intensive training in scientific computing, epidemiology, and statistics as well as learning about topics such as AI. The programme has a research focus but many students go on to careers in industry, some supported during their MSc through our internship programme.
