Billions of longitudinal health records in over 10 million people are now available for the first time to all UCL staff in the CALIBER programme, supported by the Farr Institute.
You are invited to register for the launch event on Thursday, 22 September 2016, h. 09:30-13:00 (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bringing-big-health-record-data-to-your-research-tickets-27067250876) if you are interested in using such data for the first time or wish to further develop the big health record data component of your science.
This interactive event will showcase examples of the breadth of research using such data, spanning:
- Rare mendelian diseases … and common diseases
- Newborns or nonagenarians (and every age in between)
- Discovery of drug targets, disease mechanisms and precision medicine
- Quality and outcomes of patient care
- Health protection, disease prevention and public health
- Development and application of methods from disciplines including informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, mathematics
- The launch will present current tools, training and materials developed in CALIBER and will take you through practical steps for you to access the data.
Confirmed speakers include: Professor Bryan Williams, Director of UCL/UCLH Biomedical Research Centre, Professor Harry Hemingway, Director of UCL Institute of Health Informatics and Director of Farr Institute, London, Professor Aroon Hingorani, Director of UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Dr Spiros Denaxas, Head of Data Lab, Farr Institute.
