Welcoming new Advisory Board members

The European Institute is delighted to announce three new members of its Advisory Board, Dr Olesya Khromeychuk, Sony Kapoor and Nick Heath.

Sony Kapoor is an interdisciplinary Professor of Climate, Geoeconomics, & Finance at the European University Institute, CEO of the Nordic Institute for Finance, Technology, Sustainability and Society, Chief Economist at Worthwhile Capital and an adviser to several European economies, emerging markets, and international institutions. His silo-breaking career spans economic policy, international development, crisis management in the EU, banking & asset management, sustainability & climate, academia, and strategy across dozens of countries.

Dr Olesya Khromeychuk is a historian and writer. She has taught the history of East-Central Europe at the University of Cambridge, University College London, the University of East Anglia and King’s College London, and written for the New York Review of Books, Der Spiegel, the Los Angeles Review of Books, openDemocracy and Metro. Khromeychuk is the author of The Death of a Soldier Told by His Sister (2022) and “Undetermined" Ukrainians. Post-War Narratives of the Waffen SS "Galicia" Division (2013). She is currently the Director of the Ukrainian Institute London. 

Nick Heath has been Head of the Strategy and Expertise Department in the Europe Group of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office since September 2022. The Department he leads supports the cross cutting engagement and relationships with 43 countries and the European Institutions. It also develops and runs programmes to build understanding of Europe amongst Civil Servants across the UK Government through engagement with academics, universities and think tanks, both in the UK and internationally.
