Sony Kapoor is an interdisciplinary Professor of Climate, Geoeconomics, & Finance at the European University Institute, CEO of the Nordic Institute for Finance, Technology, Sustainability and Society, Chief Economist at Worthwhile Capital and an adviser to several European economies, emerging markets, and international institutions. His silo-breaking career spans economic policy, international development, crisis management in the EU, banking & asset management, sustainability & climate, academia, and strategy across dozens of countries.
 
He has a long track record of distinguished public service through successfully tackling policy, business and societal challenges and visionary thinking. He has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and a European Young Leader by Friends of Europe. He has also been elected Fellow by the RSA and was awarded an honorary fellowship by George Soros for his contribution to diffusing the Euro crisis. Mr. Kapoor is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, and the London School of Economics and now lives in Oslo focusing on the nexus between the climate, economy, finance, energy, geopolitics, and development.
