Background

Dr Kingshuk Pal is an academic GP. He is interested in the development of internet tools for managing chronic illness and has recently completed his PhD with the unit.

Research

The subject of his PhD was the development of an internet based diabetes self-management programme for adults with type 2 diabetes. He has completed a Cochrane review of computer based self-management interventions for adults with type2 diabetes and has been doing qualitative work with patients and health professionals about what they would like to see in such interventions
