Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the US Department of Justice visits the CLES

Renata B. Hesse, the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal and Civil Operations at the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Antitrust Division visited UCL on Tuesday, 9 December 2014

She lectured on recent developments in US Antitrust Law and discussed this with an audience of students, academics and practitioners at a Global Competition Law and Economics series event organized by CLES. 

Ms Hesse shared her experience at the DOJ's Antitrust Division, explaining the various civil and criminal cases brought forward by the Antitrust Division in recent years and current thinking as to the development of standards of enforcement in the area of IP law and international convergence. The lecture and the discussion that followed were chaired by Professor Ioannis Lianos, Director of the Centre for Law, Economics and Society and an Executive Director of the Jevons Institute for Competition Law and Economics at UCL.
