UCL Undergraduate Open Day 29 June 2019 - CEGE Talk and Tour

29 June 2019, 10:00 am–4:00 pm

UCL View from Portico

As part of UCL’s Undergraduate Open Day, join CEGE Undergraduate Admissions Tutor Dr Manni Bhatti for her talk on studying civil engineering at UCL. Currently rated 10th in the QS World University Rankings (2019), UCL is known as London’s Global University, and there’s similar diversity in our civil engineering curriculum – from the very start of our programmes, you will be working in teams of engineers in order to solve real life problems, whilst honing your design, technical and interdisciplinary skills. Suitably inspired, we hope you'll then join Engineering (Civil) BEng and MEng Programme Director Dr Tristan Robinson for a guided tour around the Chadwick Building, our Departmental home. Named after the famed and controversial 19th century public health reformer Sir Edwin Chadwick, the tour includes a visit to some of our exciting laboratory facilities.

This event is free.

We hope you can join us on 29 June for this UCL Undergraduate Open Day, where you can discover more about UCL as a whole, living and studying in London, and what it’s really like to be a CEGE undergraduate student.

Our Engineering (Civil) BEng degree offers a unique curriculum constructed around a series of multidisciplinary group projects, which focus on real-world engineering problems.  The Engineering (Civil) MEng programme we offer builds on the knowledge and skills taught in the BEng, but also involves a final year design project and advanced modules. It is a direct route to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Both our civil engineering undergraduate programmes are also part of the Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP) teaching framework which, alongside a focus on the ethics and creativity inherent in engineering, means our students get to study three modules in a different or related engineering/management discipline, or a modern foreign language.

Please note, this talk and tour are part of UCL's Undergraduate Open Day. Find out more about the other talks, tours and events on offer by visiting the Undergraduate Open Days website. UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering will host a Drop-In during the day, so come and visit us at any time in the Engineering Cafe, Engineering Front Building, Malet Place. You must book your place on the Open Day - and your places on our talk and tour - via the registration link above.
