UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering
A multidisciplinary department renowned for excellence in research and teaching, we currently hold a substantial EPSRC research portfolio in civil engineering. Home to world-leading research projects, groups and centres, we reflect a broad, enquiring and human-centred view of the engineering world. Strong links to industry and research are embedded throughout our diverse range of programmes, with these links enhanced by our proximity to both major infrastructure projects and leading firms, thanks to our central London location.
Since the first Chair of Civil Engineering in England was established at UCL in the 1840s, we have strived to be forward-thinking; a legacy which continues to this day, with our innovative undergraduate degree programmes and their focus on teamwork and ethics. Our undergraduate teaching has won praise from the Royal Academy of Engineering, helping to inspire UCL Engineering’s own groundbreaking teaching framework, the IEP.
