UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering

Student Life at CEGE

Welcome to the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE), where young civil engineers gather to change the world!

As a Department, we reflect a broad, enquiring, and human-centered view of the engineering world. At CEGE, we foster these values in our students by designing a curriculum based on human interaction, dialogue, teamwork, and ethics. Hear from our students as they describe what makes UCL and being part of CEGE a unique experience.

Undergraduate student life

Our undergraduate teaching has won praise from the Royal Academy of Engineering, helping to inspire UCL Engineering's ground-breaking teaching framework, the Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP).

Postgraduate student life

Our department has extensive links to industry through professional engineers who deliver lectures and seminars, and support students on their research projects as industrial supervisors.

UCL Drawing Gym

Some CEGE degrees currently benefit from the UCL Drawing Gym, a free-to-access online exercise programme designed to help engineers improve their sketching and visualisation skills.

Our degree programmes provide students with the skills, knowledge and experience in Civil Engineering and become highly sought after across a wide range of career paths.
