Online Careers Library

If you are considering working outside the UK, Career Discovery can provide you with a range of useful resources.

Search for working abroad to discover guides on working outside the UK, including work experience. Alternatively, to find information about working in a specific country, search for ‘working in [country name]’. Examples include, working in Asia, working in Europe, and working in the US.

Alumni networking

Alumni networking - Connecting with UCL graduates who are working outside the UK or have international experience is a great way to learn what it's like to live and work outside the UK. Through LinkedIn you can search for alumni by location, UCL course or department, job sector, current organisation, and more. Many UCL alumni will be happy to connect with you and tell you about their experience. This is a great way to explore your options and expand your global network.

Overseas internship agreements and Convention de Stage

Overseas recruiters often require a three-way agreement between the University, the student and themselves, (as the internship provider), which may cover a range of different things depending on the role and the company.

International student employment data dashboard

We are often asked if we hold data on what students from particular countries will go on to do after leaving UCL, and where they do it. Our data dashboard is a way we can share the information we hold with our current students.
