Faculty of Brain Sciences celebrates 2023 Sustainability Award winners

14 July 2023

Congratulations to all of our Faculty staff for their contributions to championing sustainability, which were celebrated at UCL’s annual Sustainability Awards.

Sustainability Awards

The annual Sustainability Awards recognise students, staff and researchers who have been making change possible at UCL and beyond. This year, the hybrid awards ceremony took place on 12 July.

The Faculty of Brain Sciences received tremendous recognition for committment to sustainability. The Sustainable Impact Award was given to student Daisy Li (PALS) on behalf of the Student Zero Food Waste Project. As part of this scheme, she collects unused food from various UCL catering outlets and redistributes to local food banks.

The PALS Green Team were recognised as one of three winners in the Outstanding Sustainability Award category. This team continues to lead the way on sustainability at UCL. Not only have they maintained their pledge to be ‘Powered by Plants’, kept their PALS No-Fly Zone Initiative, but this year also saw the successful introduction of a new module titled ‘The Psychology of Climate Change' which will equip PALS students with knowledge and skills on how to engage with threats posed to their careers by climate change.
