Prospective PhD students recruited outside established doctoral training programmes (eg self-funded, independent scholarship holders etc) can only be offered admission following successful performance in an interview with a panel consisting of one of the graduate tutors and another member of the academic staff appointed by the graduate tutors. The prospective supervisor does not take part in this interview.
All members of the academic staff will be invited to serve on the panel on a rolling basis.
Upon receipt of an application, the graduate tutors will arrange for an interview with the candidate either in person or over a skype call.
