Funded research opportunities
We occasionally have funded research opportunities and PhD studentships available. These are posted throughout the year on the Funded Research Opportunities page, listed under our department ‘The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources’. To receive an email when opportunities become available in Sustainable Resources, along with invitations to open days and more, register your interest in starting an MPhil/PhD with us.
These include opportunities funded studentship opportunities through the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership and the ESRC-funded UCL, Bloomsbury and East London Doctoral Training Partnership (UBEL).
The Bartlett Promise PhD Scholarship
The Bartlett Promise is a long-term project to tackle the lack of diversity in the built environment. This scholarship is open to UK domiciled students with home fee status pursuing a Bartlett PhD programme.

UCL's Research Opportunity Scholarship supports UK resident Black Asian and Minority Ethnic postgraduate research degree students and is open to both prospective and current students.

Funding for current students
Our Faculty, The Bartlett, and UCL more broadly have a number of funds current students can apply to throughout their MPhil/PhD to support travel to conference, collaborative initiatives and training. The Bartlett Student Conference Fund
This fund is to help graduate research students present their research at international conferences.

The Bartlett Doctoral Initiative Fund
This fund is to support collaboration between MPhil/PhD students in The Bartlett's academic departments in the form of thematically focused initiatives that benefit doctoral students across the Faculty. These initiatives may be pedagogical or skills training related in purpose or aimed at assisting doctoral students in academic networking and career development.

The Bartlett External Training Fund
This fund aims to provide doctoral students with additional opportunities to undertake training that is essential to their research thesis and not available through the UCL Doctoral Skills Development Programme.
