IoA involvement:
Justine’s research interests are in non-ferrous metal and glass working of the last two millennia, focusing on the British Isles but set within a European context, and on the scientific analysis of Roman and medieval artefacts. She works with Ian Freestone and is a member of the Early Glass Technology Research Network (EGTRN).
Justine regularly teaches on ARCL2018 (Early Medieval Archaeology of Britain) for Andrew Reynolds, and on the IAMS Summer School organized by Mike Charlton. She informally advises a number of post-doctoral students at UCL and is actively discussing future collaborations with both Mike Charlton and Miljana Radivojevic. She has been editor of the journal Historical Metallurgy since 1990.
