Job Vacancy: Lecturer in Mesoamerican Archaeology

The UCL Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a Lecturer in Mesoamerican Archaeology (Ref.:B03-01615). The deadline for applications is 7 March 2024.
A full-time Lecturership in Mesoamerican Archaeology is available, beginning in September 2024.
Applicants are sought with the ability and expertise to teach broad thematic undergraduate courses, as well as survey courses in Mesoamerican archaeology. Active involvement in Mesoamerican fieldwork is also essential.
The successful candidate will act as a Personal Tutor in our popular BA Archaeology and Anthropology, so some educational background in both disciplines is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise research students, Masters’ and undergraduate dissertations, and undertake related administrative duties.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Archaeology or Anthropology (specialised in some aspect of Mesoamerican archaeology), an established research profile with evidence of international and local impact, and track record of gaining funding for research.
Candidates should have experience of leading excavations in Mesoamerica, including effective relationships with local stakeholders.
