Please join us at the UCL Institute of Archaeology in London for two weeks of stimulating archaeometallurgy sessions, sponsored by the Institute for Archaeo-metallurgical Studies.

The summer school will run weekdays 19-30 June from 10am to 5pm. We will also be running an optional weekend of experimental archaeometallurgy from Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July.

Leading experts will discuss a range of topics including mining, smelting, metalworking, field methods, and the analysis of metal objects. Sessions will consist of topical lectures and case studies as well as artefact handling, technical demonstrations, and museum visits.  We will also take an excursion to Butser Ancient Farm for a weekend of experimental archaeometallurgy.

The course is intended for professionals, academics, students, and enthusiasts alike.
