Launch of Objects of the Misanthropocene: Unearthing futures exhibition
12 October 2022
A new exhibition, curated by Dean Sully (UCL Institute of Archaeology) and colleagues from the Slade School of Fine Art, is on display in the Octagon Gallery at UCL until February 2023.
‘Objects of the Misanthropocene: Unearthing futures’ is the latest output of the ‘Objects of the Misanthropocene’ project, which was initiated in 2019 and continues to evolve through a series of co-produced events hosted by the Illegal Museum of Beyond.
The exhibition in the Octagon Gallery is co-curated by Jo Volley and Dean Sully with UCL Museums and Cultural Programmes.
The exhibition launch event will take place today, Wednesday 12 October (4-5.30pm). Read more and book your free space to the launch event.
The Octagon Gallery Exhibition, which runs from 26 September 2022 -10 February 2023 (apart from the Christmas and New Year period when UCL is closed) is a collaboration between the Slade and the Institute of Archaeology that contains newly created artworks from UCL staff and students.
Dean is Emeritus Scientist in Residence at the Slade, having been their Scientist in Residence in 2019-20.
