Panel Workshop on Practice Theory and/in Archaeology

7 February 2022

Andrew Gardner (UCL Institute of Archaeology) has been invited to participate in an interdisciplinary panel event hosted by the Centre for Practice Theory at Lancaster on 23 February.

Dr Andrew Gardner (UCL Institute of Archaeology)

This online workshop will consider issues about practice, practice theory, and the study of practices in archaeology and the implications of these matters for the investigation of practices more broadly.

In addition to Andrew Gardner, the panelists include Axel Christopherson (NTNU), Duncan Garrow (University of Reading), and Tobias Kienlin (University of Cologne). Each panelist will initially speak for 10 minutes starting from an object of archaeological interest.

A moderated discussion broken into segments addressing different themes will follow. This event should be of interest to archaeologists as well as to practice-minded scholars from other disciplines.

The workshop is scheduled for 23 February, 2022, 11am-1pm, British Time. Those interested in attending should contact Dr Stanley Blue at s.blue@lancaster.ac.uk
