Research Associate in Anthropology

There is a vacancy in the department for a Research Associate in Anthropology (Ref:1237707).
This
is a 6 month full time post-doctoral research position to work on the Wellcome
Trust funded project 'Ancestry, Admixture and Breast Cancer in Brazil: an
ethnographic investigation of population genetics, disease risk and identity'.
The position will initially be offered on a part time basis for six months but this may be extended for up to a year. The post holder will work closely with the PI for the project Dr Sahra Gibbon.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in medical or social anthropology with a experience of both quantitative (SPSS) and qualitative analysis. It is also essential that the candidate has at least some working knowledge of Portuguese as the job will involve working with data sets that are in Portuguese. It would be desirable also for the candidate to have some experience of using qualitative analysis software such as ATLAS ti. The candidate will ideally be a postgraduate at PhD or post-doctoral level.
