Gender

The department is committed to gender equality in ways that go beyond just equal representation of men and women in our staff and student body. Gender equality means both addressing gender beyond the binary and also taking account of the intersections between gender, race, class, sexuality.

We are currently working towards our Athena Swan Bronze in 2022.

The Athena Swan Self Assessment Team is chaired by Alecia Carter and Rikke Osterlund. The members are:

  • Deniz Gul Salali
  • Suzy White
  • Aaron Parkhurst
  • Chiara Francesconi
  • Alex Tasker
  • Carrie Ryan
  • Ana Ghica
  • Wendy Chandler
  • Student Reps TBC

The UCL Student Union’s Women’s network stands for bettering women students’ life at UCL, for all self-defining women.

If you have suffered from any form of sexual harassment or bullying, you can always get advice and report this to Report + Support.
