21 April 2021
For the fourth consecutive year, UCL is looking to recognise and celebrate the amazing contributions of its alumni volunteers.

The Alumni Volunteering Awards were set up to celebrate the wonderful alumni volunteers who dedicate their time to helping to advance the UCL community. This year, we invite submissions to the following categories:
- Alumni Volunteer of the Year
- Alumni Group/Network of the Year
Nominations close 6 May 2021. Winners and runners up will be announced during Volunteers Week (1 – 7 June 2021) so keep an eye on our social media channels.
About the awards
In 2016, we set the ambitious goal of reaching 250,000 volunteer hours as part of our It's All Academic Campaign. We are proud to say that reached our target a year early and achieved a total of 263,000 volunteer hours. This remarkable achievement was only possible thanks to the brilliant UCL alumni who work so hard to create valuable experiences and lifelong memories for their peers.
The UCL Alumni Volunteering Awards were first launched in 2018 with the aim of expressing our gratitude to the phenomenal alumni volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to enriching the UCL experience for students, graduates, and staff alike.

By offering careers advice, digital mentoring, and speaking at events, our graduates contribute so much to learning and life at UCL.
At last year’s awards, Ajaz Hussain won Volunteer of the Year for his fantastic support of UCL graduates and students on UCL Bentham Connect. Meanwhile, the UCL Recent Graduates Network won Alumni Group of the Year for their work helping alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years to stay connected to UCL.
We were also thrilled to mark exceptional contributions from Ravi Aswani, Kirsty Ayers, Dawei Shi and Nick Coveney. We’re so proud to have such a supportive group of alumni volunteers and look forward to celebrating them again this year!
