Dr Rumana Omar awarded MRC funding for prognostic modelling research

Dr Rumana Omar in collaboration with Dr Gareth Ambler, Professor Trevor Sweeting and Dr Shaun Seaman (MRC Biostatistics Unit Cambridge) has been awarded £300,445 by the methodology panel of the Medical Research Council to carry out research on prognostic modelling. This research will investigate the use of shrinkage methods to alleviate over-fitting of prognostic models for independent and clustered data with few events. A research associate will be employed on this grant for three years.
