Moodle

Moodle is an online Learning Environment. It's easy to use and has a number of innovative tools that make it an excellent environment for creating courses.

Lecturecast

Lecturecast is a tool for scheduling, recording and streaming lectures. The video platform designed to foster active, engaged, and personalised video-based learning.

Digital assessment

Learn about AssessmentUCL, online exams and quizzes, Turnitin text-matching software and Moodle assignments.

Blogging and portfolio tools

UCL have several tools including Reflect and MyPortfolio which support blogging or setting up a personal learning environment.

Live teaching tools

Zoom enables you to run web-based sessions with your students using audio, virtual whiteboards, screen sharing, text chat and video. MS Teams is just as useful, but better for smaller 1-2-1 sessions. For 2021/22 we have added the ability to stream lectures using Lecturecast Live

Interactive tools

More collaborative software tools are also supported by UCL, including Mentimeter (interactive polling and presentations) and Opinio (surveys).

UCL Wiki

Wikis provide a simple, intuitive way of creating group-authored webpages, such as Wikipedia-style repositories of knowledge. They are useful for collaborative projects and make it easy to share information. You can view changes made by different users or rollback to previous versions.

Educational Media applications and services

Alongside Lecturecast there are many educational media applications and services which support learning and teaching, these include Mediacentral, Imagestore, Live Streaming, Video Production, Podcasting, Digitisation, Poster Production and our new Mediapod and Media Loan services.
