UCL Connect Host Women In Leadership Professional Networking Event
2 March 2017
On Wednesday 8 March, to tie in with the celebrations for International Women’s Day, UCL Connect’s Women in Leadership event takes place, offering an inspiring evening of discussions and professional networking.
Hosted by Professor Becky Francis, Director of the UCL Institute of Education, the event will feature advice, tips and stories from a panel of pioneering female leaders and UCL graduates, with contributions from Caroline Ellis (Director, Caroline Ellis & Associates), Joanne Hackett (Chief Commercial Officer, Precision Medicine Catapult) and Georgina Butler (Former British Ambassador to Costa Rica).
The event presents the chance to explore the challenges faced by women in the workforce and is a fantastic opportunity for all those wishing to learn more about leadership positions to hear about the experiences of some of our most inspiring leaders.
Panel member Joanne Hackett explains the potential impact and importance of hosting events like Women in Leadership, “UCL is London’s global university and, as such, it has a responsibility to promote, encourage and embrace female leadership. With a commitment to support female leaders, UCL is fostering a more balanced, complete and talented workforce.”
“Women bring a different perspective to leadership and enhancing differences is what allows change to happen.”
UCL Connect is a professional development series offering a range of speed networking, panel-based events and workshops throughout the year. Open to all current students and alumni, the initiative also offers free online mentoring through the Alumni Online Community (AOC) and a host of other opportunities.
