Episode 08: Ectopic Pregnancy

As indicated at the beginning of the episode, ectopic pregnancies are a sensitive topic, as they are often associated with pregnancy loss. On this episode we discuss what Ectopic Pregnancies are, including the different types, different factors that may be associated with this condition, and three of the different management options for ectopic pregnancy. Additionally, we discuss Dr. Annie Solangon's work, and the importance of evidence based research in this field.  

 

About the Guest

First and foremost, Dr. Annie Solangon is passionate about improving women's health and advocating for gender equity. Dr. Solangon is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Researcher specialising in Early Pregnancy, Gynaecology and Advanced Ultrasound. Her PhD, under the supervision of Professor Davor Jurkovic at UCL, focuses on improving the diagnosis and management of ectopic pregnancy and pregnancies of unknown location. She has worked as a clinician in the NHS for 11 years gaining great insights into unmet needs and problems to be solved. Dr. Solangon believes innovation and technology are crucial in evolving healthcare systems.
