Professor Dave Selwood Awarded $804,767 grant from the Fast Forward/American National MS Society

The project entitled "Lead optimization of a novel MS drug for nerve loss" will commence in April 2016 in collaboration with David Baker (Queen Mary University of London)

This grant will fund development of our existing research inhibitors into drug candidates for the prevention of nerve loss.  The work is multi-disciplinary and will involve molecular design, chemical synthesis, X-ray crystallography and evaluation in MS models. The figure shows one of our inhibitors bound into the protein active site.
