Urban Pamphleteer is a series of publications that confront key contemporary urban questions from diverse perspectives. Written in a direct and accessible tone, these pamphlets draw on the history of radical pamphleteering as a tool for instigating change.
Edited by Clare Melhuish (Urban Laboratory Research Associate), Heritage & Renewal in Doha interrogates the contradictory ways that heritage features in the rapid contemporary redevelopment of Doha through the microcosm of its Al-Asmakh neighbourhood.
The launch event is kindly being hosted by the Doha Architecture Forum. Thilo Rehrens (Director, UCL Qatar) will introduce the evening, whilst a number of the contributors will be in attendence to expand on their articles.
Contributors for the fourth Urban Pamphleteer include Ashra M. Salama, Ali A. Alraouf, David Kendall, Rosanna Law, Rami El Samahy and Kelly Hutzell, Peter Bishop and Adrian Lahoud, Marcial Echenique, Vicky Richardson, Alicja Borkowska, Iris Papadatou, Fatima Fawzy and Alaa Larri, Ben Barbour, Clare Melhuish, Sally Macdonald and Antonia Rosati, Fatma Al Sahlawi, Trinidad Rico, and Michael Edwards.
Urban Pamphleteer is supported by the UCL Grand Challenge of Sustainable Cities.
